2022

Peter Tatchell, the British Human Rights campaigner is demonstrating for gay rights. Beneath, Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister who's Conservative Government introduced Section 28; legislation that banned the promotion of homosexuality in schools.  Tatchell and Thatcher are brought together by a gap created by two perspex sheets.  This gap creates a line of visual connection, aligning and juxtaposing social and political discourse.

In this piece, I'm demonstrating how individuals and their choices have lasting impacts, and how curatorial decisions can exemplify personal histories.

This print was taken at The Photographers' Gallery, London in 2021, in which The Guardian was collaborating with the gallery to show images from their archive.
